Alexandra Daddario (born March 16, 1986) is an American actress from New York. She is set to portray the demigod daughter of Athena, Annabeth Chase alongside with Logan Lerman and Brandon T. Jackson in the 2010 film adaptation of Rick Riordan’s novel The Lightning Thief. Alexandra was also in The Squid and the Whale, All My Children, The Babysitters, The Attic, and The Hottest State.

She wanted to be an actress when she was a child but her first television role did not come about until she was 16 years old, when she booked a single episode in the role of victimized teen Laurie Lewis on All My Children. At the same time she was a sophomore attending a traditional girls school in New York. “I was finishing my sophomore year of high school at [the Brearley School] in New York,” Daddario said. “I would not have been able to continue my education there.” Also the actress joined Logan Lerman and Brandon T. Jackson in Percy Jackson, the fantasy-adventure movie being directed by Chris Columbus, which is to be released on the 12th of February, 2010. Columbus and Craig Titley have adapted the screenplay from the first book of Rick Riordan’s best-selling teen’s novel, Percy Jackson and the Lightning theif.

Alexandra Daddario being cast as one of the leading roles as Annabeth Chase of the up coming 2010 movie Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief was announced in early summer 2009. She has received notable attention since, on youtube, world wide, and other sites across the internet. Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief has been recently been compared with the book & movie Harry Potter, and many believe this role will do her well in her acting career as it had done with Emma Watson who plays Hermione in the Harry Potter movies. However many fans of the book and movie protest, saying that the two are nothing alike, and that Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief brings a different element and storyline. The movie is set to be released worldwide, and on the 12th of February 2010 in The United States, 11th of February 2010 in Australia, 19th of February 2010 in India, and 26th of February 2010 in Japan. Alexandra Daddario was spotted attending the premiere of the 2010 3d movie Avatar (2009 film) along with Logan Lerman and Brandon T. Jackson, promoting their upcoming film. No news of a sequel The Sea of Monsters has been announced yet.
